Coraline 3D

We went to see Coraline this afternoon and enjoyed sitting in an empty theater. We couldn't figure out why there were no people coming to the movie and then we looked at our tickets and realized that we were a half hour early...

Coraline was an awesome movie, I would recommend it to everyone.

A Light In The Darkness

A light in a dead and dying world...

Here is my thought for the day:
  • Do they put fences around graveyards to keep people like me out or to keep the residents in?
Just a thought

Sign Sign Everywhere A Sign

Not really sure why, but this week has kind of been sign week...

Where would we be without signs. I thought about one of my favorite "oldie" songs Signs when I was posting this sign today. I thought I would share the lyrics of that song.

V1
And the sign said long haired freaky people need not apply
So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why
He said you look like a fine upstanding young man, I think you'll do
So I took off my hat I said imagine that, huh, me working for you

woah!

Chorus:

Sign Sign everywhere a sign
Blocking out the scenery breaking my mind
Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign

V2
And the sign said anybody caught trespassing would be shot on sight
So I jumped on the fence and yelled at the house, Hey! what gives you the right
To put up a fence to keep me out or to keep mother nature in
If God was here, he'd tell you to your face, man you're some kinda sinner

Repeat Chorus:

Bridge:

Now, hey you Mister! can't you read, you got to have a shirt and tie to get a seat
You can't even watch, no you can't eat, you ain't suppose to be here
Sign said you got to have a membership card to get inside Uh!

V3
And the sign said everybody welcome, come in, kneel down and pray
But when they passed around the plate at the end of it all,
I didn't have a penny to pay, so I got me a pen and a paper and I made up my own little sign
I said thank you Lord for thinking about me, I'm alive and doing fine

Repeat Chorus
Repeat Chorus

Now What Do I Do?

I was running on Mt Tabor today and "ran" into this sign. It made me think about life and what do I do when roads seem to end and doors close ahead of me.

Do you ever feel like you are going down a path in life and all of a sudden you run into the end of the road? Oh, what to do???

Who do you turn to when the road you are on in life get's interrupted? Do you turn to friends for advice, ask your family members for help, or what?... Feel free to comment and let me know what you do when your road abruptly ends...

Baseball Signups

We went to baseball signups today and ran into Nathan... Another year of ball is coming up.

Some how I was recruited to be umpire in chief. Any volunteers to ump? Let me know :)

Lost Girl

We found a lost girl in the middle of the street this afternoon. After about 15 minutes a dad came walking down the street to claim her. He was blaming her 14 year old brother for losing his sister since he was busy on the internet. I am glad all went well...

The other gal in the pic was the person who found the girl.

A Jolt Of Reality - True Love

Today began very similar to any other day. I got home from work this morning and took a few hour nap. Made a cup of coffee and had a conversation with Lori regarding our house payment, car insurance, food, kids, etc... You know, the typical things mom's and dad's talk about throughout the day.

After we came to the decision once again that there always seems to be too much month at the end of our money, we discussed our options and know that through faith everything seems to get taken care of.

Lori had some running around to do, so I made a couple of phone calls to line up some additional work on my afternoon off. I calculated how much it was going to take to stay current for another month and the Good Lord has made it possible for us to get by once again. He is always faithful in meeting our needs and this day is no different.

After Lori left, I sat down at the computer to do some of my daily rituals. Read my email from well... no one really. I never get anything to speak of in my email, but for some reason I always need to check it. Next I looked at my job boards for work and it appears that I will be going out of town again some time tomorrow. Then I dove into my God time. I went to a couple of blogs that I frequent and somehow I was led to a friend of a friend of a friend. You know how that goes. You are reading something from someone you know and then click on a comment left by someone else and then click on their blog etc... Well, that is what I did today and this is where it led me... Take a look.

During this video I was brought to a place of complete humility. As tears flowed down my face I was reminded that God knows my needs and the needs of each one of us. I know His grace and mercy are shown even in the actions of a small child and after today I wished I could do more. During this week of Valentine's, won't you think about the True Love of Jesus Christ. That He has given us more than we need and allowed us to live in a place of comfort and security. And if you can, give some of what you have back to those who have less than we do.

Here is another link to someone who is doing more... Click Here

That's it. I don't even know what to say but thank you Lord for sparing me such agony. You are a God of compassion and I pray for the little children of the world who live like Sam and Esther...

The Red Lion

This is a picture of the Red Lion. It is a sticker on my sliding glass door in my hotel room to keep me from smashing my face on the nice clean glass.

It reminded me today of the movie "The Chronicles of Narnia." There is a lion named Aslan who helps protect this magical world of Narnia from the forces of evil.

This lion's name is Red and he just keeps me from busting my nose on the glass...

Love... What a blessing

Since Valentine's Day is this week I thought I would share a finger painting that was given to me. Remember to say I love you to the one's you love. Christ is the Author of Love as we see in 1st Corinthians... 1Co 13:3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.... 1Co 13:7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

As we learn to love like Him, then other's we encounter will truly be blessed.

Birthday Pictures

More pictures from Grayson's Birthday. We went to the Pink Panther 2 movie Saturday afternoon with a group of boys from G's school. Wow... I guess either eleven year old's are more rambunctious than 10 year old's or I am getting older and less patient.

Then came the "sleep over." And I use the term sleep loosely. They were up late and arose quite early, but had a great time. Sunday afternoon Grayson's uncle Ken came over and gave im a 12 pack. I thought he was a little young for it, but it was fun taking it to the park and hitting them all over the field. (A twelve pack of new baseballs that is)

After it started pouring rain we went home and ate his favorite meal, meat loaf and mashed potatoes. Then the cousins, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, and uncles arrived. It was a great birthday for Grayson and we want to thank everyone who wished him a happy birthday.

Jacob and Grayson enjoying their sunday's...

Test post from phone

I am trying something new from my phone. I have been unable to send text messages over 100k to my mobile blog so I set up my phone email today to see if I can send larger files without having to wait and load them onto my computer.

This is only a test... :)
