Ice, Ice...

Since it is the last day of the year and it is winter, I thought it appropriate to share a picture of some ice. This will be my last random shot for this blog for awhile. Beginning 2012 I am going to try to attempt a monthly theme based Picture Of The Day and see how it goes. For the month of January, the first theme idea is "Super Size." - What this means is I will take macro shots of small things and make them appear to be large things. I will also attempt some close-ups and/or take pictures of very large things.

Hopefully this will be a project that inspires others to pick up their camera and share some pictures with me. I would love to see some of you, the visitors to this blog, share some of your shots in the comments.

Hope you had a great 2011. May all that you do be a reflection of God in you.

Blessings...

Peeling Paint...

I took this macro shot with my phone. I thought it was an interesting B&W shot... It makes a cool cell phone wallpaper. Feel free to download it and use it for yourself. Have a great day!

Best Friends

Best Friends... Most of the time :)

This is Orange and Emma. They are pretty good friends most of the time and I wanted to share a picture of the two of them together after a long day. Unfortunately Orange has a tumor and will probably only be around for another couple of weeks. He has been a most amazing cat!

Well, most of us were able to get into the picture this year... The only one we were missing was Brittany.

Here's hoping you have a very Merry Christmas.

Playing With Exposure

Grayson and I had a good time playing with some exposure settings and light tricks. Here is a shot that we did nothing to other than crop and re-size.

Here are some details:
9 second exposure
iso 1600
f/14
manual focus

I started the exposure and he walked into the frame, flashed an led onto his face and walked out...

Merry Christmas

For more of our light tricks check out my flickr page.

Spreading Christmas Cheer

Lori is such a wonderful conversationalist... She took a few minutes today to chat with the Salvation Army Bell Ringer and give him a word of encouragement!

Cheers!

Rose Petal - Macro Shot

Here is a picture I took that was a bunch of foliage blowing around. I gathered it together and piled up to make this shot. I really like the way the sun reveals the transparency of the petal.

Have a blessed day.

Bikini Espresso... Really?

It was a cold day working in Kalama so I decided to get a cup of coffee... Kinda weird being served by a girl in a bikini. FYI - coffee is fair and yes, she really does wear a bikini.

For all you ski bums out there... Hope you have a great weekend!

Winter Rose

I took this picture today. What a gorgeous day it is...

Now, I have seen more vibrant roses before, but what struck me was that it is the middle of December. Roses are not the norm this time of year.

Enjoy a winter rose :)

Symetry

I enjoyed the black and white picture of the stair the other day  I thought I would share another black and white shot I took the same day with my phone.

It is of the walkway at SeaTac airport from the light-rail system to the terminal.

Enjoy your day!

Big -n- Blue

This shot was taken yesterday while traveling up the Columbia River Gorge. It is from the Oregon side and is a shot of the Washington side approximately Roosevelt, WA.

The cool part is that I took it with my phone while moving about 50mph... Enjoy!
