Watch Out All You Bad Guys

I was loading pictures onto the computer from this week and noticed this one of Grayson. I think he was playing with the camera again... This must be his taekwondo face.

Watch out Chuck Norris... One day the boogie man will look under his bed for Grayson before he goes to sleep :)

A Little Skate Board Action

We went to the skate park so Grayson could perfect his mad skateboarding skills. Lori even took time out to show him how it is done...

Bowling Anybody?

Today was spent watching movies at home, playing chess, and a couple games of bowling. I got my personal best high score. Not one open frame... Lori won the first game with a 136 and I won the second with a 188.

Welcome To Spring Break 2009

More Spring Break

Ah, Spring Break in Oregon. It certainly isn't like the southern part of our country where the college kids go for sun, parties, sleepless nights. Oh no, we get lots of rain, wind, and cold weather for spring break around here.

We went to the beach for the day and enjoyed some of the finer things in life. Walks on the beach, Pronto Pups, and of course a meal at Mo's. Not the finest food I have ever eaten, but it is the cheapest on the coast that is for sure.

Oh ya, and who can forget bumper cars and putt-putt golf.

On to the next adventure tomorrow... Stay Tuned!

Spring Break

Brrrr.... Gotta love the Oregon coast.

Baseball Clinic

Grayson went to a baseball clinic today at Franklin HS. He is pretty excited to be a part of the Franklin Baseball program someday and really enjoyed the coach.

Can you figure out which one is Gray???

Remember When

I haven't seen one of these signs since I was in grade school. Now that North Korea and Iran are on the verge of being nuclear I wonder if we are going to have to go back to this era again.

Just struck me as funny

I was downtown this morning and saw this on a huge building. I found it rather comical... Can you figure out why???

I hope this isn't part of the City of Portland's budget cuts...

Bridger Elementary "Nightingale"

Grayson was one of the background singer's last night for the Nightingale performance from the Bridger Elementary Drama class.

He has been getting up early every Tuesday since November to go in before classes at school and practice.

Happy Birthday Nick

I posted a couple of days ago a picture of Lori and Nick when we took him out for his birthday dinner... And, as most of you know, it wasn't his birthday yet.

Today is Nick's 20th birthday, so, happy birthday Nick!

No Dumping Allowed

Have you ever wondered why some of the most littered places around the city are next to "No Dumping" signs... Just a thought.

I was running in Seatac and came across this sign. I had to take a picture of it. If you take a look about 200 feet in the distance you can see a huge pile of trash. It looks like the sign isn't doing a very good job. And how about the threat at the bottom of the sign... like they are going to arrest someone for throwing out their trash. Our jails are already sending people out onto the streets who are real criminals...

I can see it now.
  • Inmate #1: "What are you in for?"
  • Inmate #2: "I threw the litter bag out of my car.... Gonna get 5 years. What are you in for?"
  • Inmate #1: I ran over my girlfriend's lover with my truck and broke both of his legs... they said they need to make room for some guy who dumped his trash next to a "No Dumping" sign so I get out tomorrow."

Ya never know...

Morning Fog

Woke up this morning and opened the shades. Thought I would take a shot of the morning fog through the walnut tree...

2009 USWC Taekwondo Tournament

Wow... another year has gone by and it seems as if it went by way too quickly.

Here are a couple of shots from the US West Coast National Taekwondo tournament from this weekend. It was a little more crowded than last year, but the kids still did an awesome job representing their school.

Grayson only competed in two events this year (form and sparring) and took the silver and the gold respectively in his matches. He is now a red belt and two away from getting his black. It should take him another 18 months or so and he will be a black belt... He is really motivated and wants to have his second degree belt by the time he is fourteen. With his motivation and discipline level I am sure he will achieve it.

They ended up competing against each other since they are now in the same belt class.

Here are a couple of videos. They are of Grayson sparring. Round one and round two. He did a good job dodging the kicks of his competitor and won 3-2.

Enjoy!
