Real Estate Tycoon In Training

What better way to teach our youth about real estate investing that a good old fashioned game of Monopoly. The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. With the events of the summer winding down and school just around the corner it is time to get the board games out and hang out around the coffee table as a family and play...

Have a safe Labor Day weekend!

How Happy Is Your Teriyaki?

I appreciate the optimistic spirit when it comes to signs, especially those that tend toward the Asian persuasion. I had to laugh when I walked past this today. I have seen if for several years and have had a delicious meal in there several times. Today it just struck me as humorous.

I have another restaurant by our home called Lucky's Corner. It is very close to Happy Market, and Sunshine Dry Cleaners.

Not sure if my Teriyaki was happy, but I was when I got done eating it :)

My Father's House Completed!

Today turned out to be the day for us to wash the third floor windows of My Father's House in Gresham, OR. It was actually quite fun. Some times in life are great for teachable moments and today was one of those for me and 2 of my kids. Grayson and Austin helped me and it made a large job seem simple. When they calculated the amount of money it would have cost this ministry to have these done, and they understood from the beginning that we were doing them for free, they were very willing to help out.

Both boys worked very hard, learned how to work together, and we all got it accomplished in record time. Last night we prayed that the job would go smooth since I had very limited time and would be back on the railroad this evening.

I figured out that if we were able to achieve 2 minutes per window, which included scraping off paint and drywall mud, we would be there about 4 hours and 8 minutes. Now to achieve 2 minutes per window to wash the inside, outside, scrape, and clean the tracks and frames is asking a lot from this rookie crew. But we did it. It actually took us just under 4 hours. I contribute that to my awesome helpers and God allowing all things to go perfect!

They are still in need of volunteers to do various tasks. Call them if you have some free time over the next couple of weeks.

Finished

After 2 1/2 days of hard work... I am done! Clean windows, clean gutters, and no more moss on the roof. My work is done here. It sure is a lot more difficult when you are 40+.

Window Washing Day In Happy Valley

I was washing windows today in Happy Valley. This is the living room. It has 19' ceilings and 124 window panes. Quite the home!

Another Belt Testing

Grayson went up for his belt testing today. This is a picture of him breaking a board with a palm strike. The belt testing was originally scheduled for last Friday but we were in Rowena. Results come on Wednesday, but I am sure he passed...

Take Me Out To The Ball Game

We spent the evening hanging out at the Beavers Ball Game and enjoying a nice cool summer night at the park. Top of the 7th, one out and the Beavers are down by 8... All of a sudden there is a flash and all of the power goes out... Most excitement of the evening. As most of the fans creep to the center aisles to exit the park the power came back on and we decided to stick it out. 30 minutes later... next batter... boom! No power. We made our way to the exits and decided that since the Beaver's were down by 8 that the game would probably be over anyway.

Wednesdays Post

Once again I sent a picture twice but it never made it... I will post it this afternoon.

OK, here is the story... I have sent this picture three times from my phone but it doesn't seem to be getting through. I am impressed with technology these days, but not sure why the glitch with this one.

I was putting my train together this afternoon just outside of downtown Seattle.

Junior

I have finally included all of my animals and children in the blog. This is Junior the cat. He lives in the garage and no one ever sees him because he is sly as a cat.

Grayson's new uniform

Grayson started in the master's club this week. Not only will he be learning the fundamentals of taekwondo, but he will now be learning how to teach them to others. Maybe England in 2012... Keep it up Gdog!

Pictures From Yesteryear

I spent most of the night and day working today so when I got back to my hotel I was pretty tired. I laid down to take a nap and it turned into a 6 1/2 hour one. I didn't take any pictures on my phone today so I thought I would go through my folder on the computer and share some of the entire family from several years back.

It is amazing to me how quickly the years go by...
