Blue Flag

On the railroad we use blue lights to protect men working on equipment. We went on duty yesterday at 430 pm and had engine problems. We sat under blue flag protection until 230 am. I was on duty for 15 hours and the train never left Portland and we got a van ride to Seattle. There are more difficult ways to make a living!

My Father's House

This is the front of My Father's House. It is a new shelter for homeless families on 175th and Powell. I bid the cleaning of the third story windows today... It is 104 windows and they need them done by the end of August for the grand opening in September. The bid came in at $0 since I really felt God prompting me to do that. He has given me the ability to do windows, now it is time to do some of His.

I would encourage anyone who can, to volunteer a little time to them. They need 300 more volunteers over the next two months. A very worthy ministry opportunity. Even if you can spend just a couple hours helping out. Contact me if you want more information.

It's Time For A Change

Well, the time has come in my life to begin down a new path and really start to follow my hopes and dreams. As most of the readers of this blog know I have been working for the railroad for the past 4 1/2 years and my quality of life has been, let's just say, a little rough. My average hours working per week exceeds 60, I am up for 24+ continuous hours at least twice per week, and I can not plan anything because I am on call 24/7. Not only is my quality of life in the toilet, I also feel like sitting on a train for 12 - 15 hours at a time is completely wasting my potential. It is time for a change.

I am now an independent representative for Primerica Financial Services. It is a subsidiary company of CITICorp. the largest financial services company in the world. I am currently in the process of getting my Oregon Insurance license and will be able to offer financial services to consumers which include life, auto, and homeowners insurance. I will also offer many home loan products to help families refinance, get out of debt, or just consolidate their existing loans. I am especially looking forward to helping people get rid of their Adjustable Rate Mortgages (ARM) and other bad loans. I will also be receiving my securities license in the next 6 - 8 months so I will be able to help people with their IRA's, mutual funds, securities, retirement planning etc...

I am very excited about building my new business opportunity with the goal of being a full time finacial services rep within the next two years.

Please keep me in mind for all of your financial needs. Even if you don't have any need for my services at this time, I am sure you have friends or family members who do. I am beginning my business by referrals and any help I can get would be awesome. Thanks for reading my blog and following the happenings of my family and my life. I have had almost 4000 hits in the past 5 months so I know some one is checking this thing out...

Thanks again,
Keith

ps... I started a Primerica Financial Services blog. It is located a www.futureRVP.blogspot.com

Captain Gray

Grayson and Lori spent the day at a Taekwondo picnic at blue lake and stopped by a friends house afterwards. Grayson was given the opportunity to drive his boat out on the lake.

Almost Full Moon

Here are a couple of pictures I took of the "almost" full moon we had on Thursday. The official full moon was on Friday July 18th.

I took these pictures with the intent of posting them on Thursday but I got called out to work at 9:30pm so I forgot to share them on the blog... So here is my do over. Pretend that these were posted a few days ago...

More Zoo Pictures

I finally have a few minutes to sit and spend some time looking through pictures this evening. I spent the day working, went swimming in the new pool, and then went to dinner with the family and now it is veg out and share pictures time... Here are some more pictures from our zoo trip a couple weeks ago.

A room with a veiw

One of the exciting benefits of working for the railroad is getting to stay in 5 star lodging away from home. Here is the spectacular veiw from my room. Simply stunning!

Keep Off The Lawn

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign. Lori and I were eating our Dairy Queen ice cream this evening enjoying a walk through Clinton park and the campus of Franklin High School. We were able to have a few laughs watching the beer league softball guys, the frisbee football players, and enjoyed just strolling around watching people and chatting.

I saw a sign on the wall of the school that has been displayed since before my years at Franklin, and after reading it and seeing the lawn it was protecting I just had to take a picture.

Another zoo pic

I had a good day today but really had a difficult time trying to find a picture to share that really struck my interest. So I went though my phone and found this one I shot at the zoo this week. I was pretty amazed that my phone was able to take such a spectacular shot.

After I shot this picture I was able to take several others that turned out just as nice. They were of a majestic lion, some really colorful birds, and a couple others that just seem to jump at you when you look at them.

Next time I go to the zoo I am going to avoid the empty animal exhibits (too hot outside) and go straight back to the area I found all of these magnificent posters and probably shoot a picture of them again. It's kind of like being there.
