Samson's hurt Foot
Samson got injured playing ball and we had to take him to the vet. Here is a picture of the poor guy. He is still stoned on sedatives. $235 to remove a broken toe nail! Geez!

Field Burn Time
I encountered two field burns along I-84 this morning. It reminded me of the field burning that caused a major pile up in I-5 a few years back in the Willamette Valley.

Beach Pic's 2009
We had a lot of fun on our Mt Hood camping and Oregon Coast beach trip this week. Here are a few more pictures I wanted to share. During our transition from Hood to Coast we stopped at home for a night. During our time home Grayson lost one of his new rats. When we got back, Lori found it under a dresser drawer. Trip done, rat found, all is well in our world!

Sunset shots at Yaquina Head Lighthouse
Me and Lori on top of the hill at Yaquina Head. It was quite windy.
Tide pools.

Hanging out in Newport
On our way home we just had to stop for ice cream at the Tillamook Cheese Factory. As usual, the ice cream and cheese samples didn't disappoint!
Enjoy!

Strange, Very Strange!
At the Oregon Coast Aquarium this week we saw these things. I am not sure exactly what they are called. Some sort of jelly fish I think. Strange and amazing.

Mt Hood Camping / Hiking Pic's 2009
Here are some pictures from our camping trip. More photos from the beautiful Oregon coast coming later...
Whittling for hours...
We started hiking on this trail but decided Mexico was a little far for a day hike so we turned back.
It gets dark at night... Lori and Grayson around the fire.
Say Cheesey!
Tamanawas Falls. I hiked behind and took a couple of pictures from there.
Wassup!
Sun setting. We watched the sunset from Timberline lodge. It was amazing!

The Leg Of My Dog???
I thought this was kind of funny. I posted a picture of some colorful fall leaves yesterday. Here is the "behind the scenes" look at my picture taking abilities...
The first shot I took didn't turn out. My dog Samson walked behind the pile of leaves and the camera focused in on his leg. So instead of the picture of the fall leaves I got a picture of Samson's leg... Here ya go!

Grayson At Eagle Fern Camp 2009
Another fun year at Eagle Fern Camp for Grayson. Here is a picture of his counselors David and Brian along with most of the boys in his cabin... Not all of the boys had arrived yet so there are two more that what are pictured.
A week without him will be kind of interesting to say the least.

I call this one a tie...
Grayson, Tristen and I were walking to 7-11 for the new GI Joe Slurpee cup after cook's night out on Wednesday and we encountered the meeting of a white Ford truck and a poor defenseless tree.
The owner of the truck was walking around picking up pieces and I asked him what happened. All he could say was, "I don't know."
From what I could tell he was traveling down Powell Blvd going the wrong direction and when he discovered the error of his ways he decided to run into the helpless tree. That is the best story I can come up with.
From the looks of this one, I would guess this match to be a tie.

Reptile Night at Cook's Night Out
Last night was "Reptile Night" at cook's night out at Spring Mountain Bible Church. We enjoyed good food, lots of fellowship, and a whole bunch of lizards, snakes, turtles and more.
Here are some pictures...

What Was I Thinking?
Have you ever had one of those moments where you ask yourself the question, "What was I thinking?"
I had one of those moments today. I bid on a window washing job and I didn't really want to get it. It was for an existing customer so I am sure that they didn't get any other bids and when mine came in they accepted it right away.
Well today was the day to begin the work. I was ready to quit after 3 hours but since the job will take four days I guess I need to keep on going. It is 8 buildings and a total of 796 windows... What was I thinking??? And 3 of the buildings require 32 foot ladder work. Well, maybe next time I will just say, "No thanks, I would rather go mountain biking off a cliff!"
Grayson was a big help and an inspiration to keep on going... Not to mention he is getting paid quite well for helping. He is such a hard worker. (Are there any laws against working your kids till they drop?)
