Being the Umpire In Chief for Portland Little League I am compelled to watch hours of extensive film to get familiar with particular styles of pitching, umpire techniques, and other aspects of being a quality umpire. I came across this film recently and thought I would share it. I understand that to an untrained eye the call would be quite difficult, but I am here to tell you that a professional such as myself can and should be able to make the right call...

Are you sure it's not a strike? It looked pretty close to me... I think you need to watch it again.... :)
Here is what I emailed a fellow coach and then his response back to me...
ME: very funny. Looks like Coach Guy when he pitches Batting Practice to the kids...
GUY'S RESPONSE: What's even funnier is that with Keith behind the plate in his Ump Blue's,
that pitch would have been called a strike....
