I took the day off and decided since Lori was off too we would take a road trip to Cannon Beach and Seaside. We had an awesome time putt-putt golfing, riding bumper cars, and chilling out on the beach. (Literally chilling out... it was like 65 and cloudy with a pretty good wind) I even got in an hour long nap after reading for an hour...
Perfect day to take a break!

Our New Fridge
Check out our new high tech fridge. It only costs about $1.49 every 6 hours to keep things cold...
Due to the crazy heat our fridge broke...

power boating
Today Grayson and I spent the day at Benson State Park enjoying some cool water and rafting. We encountered some friends from baseball so it made our time there even more enjoyable. Grayson set out right away exploring the weeds and rafting to every corner of the lake looking for adventure. It was a good time to relax, swim, raft, and read a book. I wish more days could be spent this way, but I will take them when I get them.

Poor - Drunk - Homeless
Leaving Centralia this morning I encountered this man. He was passed out drunk at the train station with an empty fifth of Monarch Rum next to him. What a miserable existence.
I have a difficult time understanding how people get down this low in their life. I am sure no one says when they are young, "Hey, I think I will be a homeless drunk when I grow up."
He needs Jesus...we all need Jesus!

Burgerville Cruise-In
We stopped by to look at some oldies last night after hanging out at the skateboard park.
Here is the one I want...A 1966 Ford Mustang... Very nice! I think I need to collect a few more pop cans :-D

Now what?
Grayson has been working with me cleaning windows all summer and was able to save up enough money to buy himself a new laptop computer. So, now what? I am afraid it has become a permanent part of his lap...
Too hot to be outside anyway... Actually, time to pull him away and go for a mountain bike ride!

Picking Cherries In Mosier
Sunday, when I got back from work, I slept for a couple of hours and Lori, Grayson, and I went up the gorge to Rowena for an afternoon of sun. When we got to the house the windsurfer's were out in force. Here is a picture from the bank of the mighty Columbia.
As the day rolled on we decided to go pick some cherries in Mosier. They were on sale for 50 cents / lb so we decided to pick lots and lots of cherries. We figured that there would be neighbors who would enjoy some and it was a lot of fun to pick them so hey, why not get a bunch of them.
Our tractor ride to the best spot...
Lori couldn't wait to dive right in and eat them up.
Bruce and Linda joined us for our cherry picking adventure.
Cheese!
Can you believe it! 60 pounds of cherries. Maybe we went a little overboard. Oh, well... We found plenty of neighbor's to enjoy them.
And on the way home we ran into the Portland rain.
