Another Amazing Event

My friend's Michael and Jen had their baby today... Samuel.

Congratulations to one of the newest arrivals to this planet.

In Your Mother's Womb

Ok, I didn't actually shoot this one with my cell phone!

Today's picture comes from the inside of a mother's womb. What an amazing thing... psalm 139:13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.

Even before we were ever formed, God knew us and had an amazing plan for each of our lives.

Money From God

Lori and I decided to move forward with a big decision this week. Unfortunately, it will cost a substantial amount of money. An hour later I posted an item on craigslist and sold it within 30 minutes for $25. Here is the first $25 dollars God has provided us for this fund we are trying to build... more details later :-)

Then today a $50 safety award came in the mail from Union Pacific. I think we are moving ahead on this thing now for sure... keep it in your prayers.

Thanks,
Keith

The Adventure's Of Mimi

Grayson had a professional cartoonist / comic book artist at their school the other day and the kids learned how to make a comic book. Here is the cover for his new comic book, "The Adventure's Of Mimi."

It appears that Mimi is being attacked by evil ninja's... the suspense as to who wins is killing me.

Coming soon to a comic book store near you!

Kids are so weird

There is no way I was this weird when I was a kid... was I?

Grayson had 80's day at school and wanted to sleep with his new "cool shades"... That lasted about 2 minutes and then he said he couldn't sleep with them on... Imagine that!

In Memory Of...

Have you ever driven by a roadside memorial and thought to yourself, "I wonder what happened?"

As I ran past this mini-memorial today that thought went through my mind. "What happened?"

Having a close friend die over the holidays has made me realize more deeply that every life represents a story. Some stories are of good times and a life well lived while others are filled with pain and struggles.

The more I reflect on my life the question arises, "what stories will I leave behind?"  Stories of hope and a life well spent or a story of pain and misery?

Those are my thoughts today. What kind of story are you writing?

Mooooo!

While on a jog in Hermiston today I encountered this fellow. Definately not a common sight in SE Portland. At least he didn't chase me either... back about two years ago I was running in Hermiston and got chased by a horse. A dog I think I can handle. But the horse really freaked me out!

Back to runnin...

Taking a break

Grayson and I went on a ride around town this afternoon. Here we are a Westmoreland park watching people feed the geese and ducks.

The Big Gap

Ok, so I went an entire week without posting. I think this has been the biggest gap in posting in the history of my blog. I am not sure what the delay is about, but here are several reasons I can come up with... excuses really:

  • Too Busy
  • Too Tired
  • Lost My Creative Juices
  • It has been raining and cold so what's the point
  • Didn't really care
  • Nothing to take a picture of

and on and on...

So here is my picture today in keeping with the theme of the post.

Time

Does it ever feel like regardless of the efforts to make one's life more fruitful, time just keeps ticking by?... We all have 1440 minutes each day. How did you spend yours today?

Mom and Ryan

This is a picture of Ryan Baker and Lori. Ryan has been hanging around the boys and around our house since he was about 8 years old. Kind of like one of the boys... He has been serving our country for the past year in the Army and is due out for his first deployment in march.

He isn't sure all of the details but will be gone for a year. Please pray for his protection and that God uses him in a mighty way over seas. He loves the Lord and is looking forward to being able to serve in this way.

He was in town over the holidays and Lori was able to feed him and spend time with him...
